What is Canva Docs?
Canva Docs is a visual first document creation tool that goes far beyond tedious word processing. Design documents enhanced with videos, images, graphics, infographics, charts, graphs, and more.
Everything is at your fingertips. And, like other documentation platforms like Google Docs, you can easily collaborate with other team members to work on documents together.
You can also embed Canva presentations directly into your document. So no matter what other documentation tools you use, Canva Docs is worth considering.
Canva Docs is free for all accounts: Free, Pro, Teams, Education. However, keep in mind that there may be some additional features or content that can be accessed through a paid subscription.
Access Canva Documentation
Docs are easily accessible from Canva’s home page. Start with a blank document or click through a document category to access more information and a growing library of Canva document templates:
Canva document templates cover all kinds of practical documents, from study notes to meeting agendas, lesson plans, school recipes, blogs, journals, trackers and more.

Note: Canva Docs is a “digital first” document.
As mentioned in the video, Canva Docs currently works as one long document with no pages. This lack of pagination is somewhat deliberate in Canva, at least for now, as Canva Docs is designed to share and collaborate digitally or “digitally first”.
You can print Canva Doc to PDF, but you need to check the spacing first. This can be tricky without a page break. Keep in mind that this document should ideally be edited and used online, at least for now.

Did you just read that you can turn Canva Docs into presentations in just a few clicks? Yes, it is. Let’s take a look at “Docs to Decks”.
Basically, all you need is a Canva document with all the information. Then click “Convert” to convert your document into a presentation..
Canva will then turn any information into a presentation – text, images, videos, charts, tables – and you can choose from the following styles:

Impressive, right? Sometimes one of the biggest obstacles to creating a great presentation is the design, not the content itself. Docs to Decks will help you get rid of those obstacles and create stunning presentations right in Canva Docs.
However, there is one more feature that is specially combined with Canva Docs. That’s the AI magic of Magic Write. Let’s take a look at this amazing feature.

magic write Canva’s new AI text generator. It helps you get ideas from pages, create first drafts, and more! Currently only available as part of Canva Docs. However, Canva is always developing new features and will likely evolve.
Think of it as a handy tool for copying content, ideas, lists, bios, captions, brainstorming, and anything else you need to write. Then, I focused on content that small businesses can utilize in marketing and social media, and Magic Light seems to be the most helpful. You have been asked to write the following content:

If you’ve been living under a rock but haven’t yet known the power of Chat-GPT and the various AI software built on GPT3 (including GPT4), Canva’s Magic Write is the same technology, namely GPT3 in partnership with OpenAI. Tips for using Magic Write
1 Be descriptive – The better words you type, the better Magic Write’s output will be.
2. Always review and refine the output to make it your own. It’s always better to add your own flair, accept what Magic Write suggests, and then put it in your own words.
3. Start using Magic Write as a starting point. Don’t rely on it for your entire essay or blog post. With all the AI flying around, there will be something special about your novel ideas and thoughts. Don’t neglect to share!
4. Be aware of limitations. This is an evolving feature in Canva and AI in general. You can use Magic Write for commercial or personal projects, but please check the Terms of Use and understand that content may be reproduced and you do not have rights to the content created.
For the above reasons, we recommend using Magic Write for “light content” such as social media posts, blog post ideas, fun content, the start of a tweet, or the start of the “bone” of an article. Avoid legal papers, assignments, essays, or any important documents that should be current originals.

Canva Docs is free for all users and can be used forever with a Free, Teams, Education, Teams or Enterprise account. Keep in mind that there may be some additional features or content that can only be accessed with a paid subscription.
Magic Write is free for anyone to use, and free Canva subscribers can create up to 25 pieces of content for free. Users with a Pro, Teams, or NFP subscription can create up to 75 pieces of content per user per month using their subscription. Currently, Magic Write is not available for students or teachers with a Canva for Education plan due to restrictions on AI and students creating original content. However, this may change in the future as the product evolves.
