9 Tourism Post Ideas for Social Media + Canva Templates

Have a tourism business and need tourism post ideas? In this post, we share some easy ways to create a social design that showcases your business and engages your audience, as well as Canva templates to help you get started..

Boost Your Travel Business With Tourism Post Ideas

Whether it’s an AirBnB running, a cafe, restaurant, accommodation, sightseeing trip, tour or gin brewery, sharing creative content about your business will get you noticed.

These are just a few ideas that can be applied to any type of tourism business! Try the template below.

  1. Share your customer experience. As you know, the tourism business world is driven by reviews. Show us the great reviews you get from customers. You should always check and respond to reviews on all platforms. This means Facebook, Google, TripAdvisor and all places.
  2. Keep a nice folder of photos. This includes photos taken by you, photos taken professionally, and photos taken by your customers and visitors. Ask for permission to use photos you don’t own and note what you and your team can post.
  3. Discover what makes tourism special. There is something unique about you, your team and your experience. Know it…show it on social media.
  4. Find the platform that works best for you and focus on one platform. Don’t try everywhere, as you can get tired and give up. Think about where your audience is and where your team feels comfortable creating content. If it’s a funny video snippet, it could be TikTok or Instagram Reels. For more corporate content, go to LinkedIn. If you like fun but focus on showing images or customer content (user-generated content), Facebook or Instagram might be for you.
  5. Experiment and see what works! Sometimes the jewel of content is an attempt you don’t expect to work. So don’t be afraid to try new ideas! Hope you find this post good information.

how To use the Tourism Canva template in this post

As you know, I was one of the first Canva creators (creating templates for the Canva library). And I make a lot of tourism and hotel-inspired templates.

In this post, we have shared different Canva templates that you can use for your tourism business. You can use them “as is”, but we recommend using templates to create your own spin on your content. You can do something like this:

  • Change your photo or video (we recommend using your own footage or an image that showcases your business)
  • Change text or message (but feel free to use the included message if appropriate).
  • Change the color or font to match your brand.

9 Tourism Post Ideas (+Canva Templates)

Use this Canva template as is, or change the image, icon, text or color to reflect your unique view of the world!

1. Fun photo airdrop post

Let’s kick off your tourism post idea with this fun promo post. This is a great way to share your suggestions for tourism products or services while sharing engaging posts. Who doesn’t like 2 for 1 beer?

2. Funny Text Phone Chat Promotion Post

This is one of my favorite tourist post ideas because it can be used in so many ways. Since this template is actually in video format, you can download it and share it as a video or download a single page like this and share it as an image. Change your background image to show your lodging, travel or cafe!

Hot Tips: When editing the template, do not clutter the elements too much. Change the text, but keep it a similar length to what’s already in the template. And if you’re sharing as a video, make sure the new text is copied to both pages. If you’re only changing text and colors/photos, you don’t need to change the animation too much.

3. Post funny travel memes or jokes

If you want to mix things up a bit with your tourism post ideas, share a funny meme or joke your audience can relate to. Who doesn’t have a good packaging nightmare? Ask your audience to share what’s best for you and see what they can’t refuse to do with you! Or switch to the scenario you want.

Hot Tips: Canva has a nice charting feature that lets you click on the chart in this template and change the proportions and colors in a few clicks!

4. Share a fun review post

Let’s put together some tourist post ideas with this animated template that you can use to show off interesting reviews. Share it as an image or download it as an MP4 with each rating displayed on your screen. The animation is all set up, so all you need to do is change the text and color.

5. Drone overhead photo/video post

This template can also be shared as a static image, as in the example above, or downloaded as an MP4 with an animated recording icon flashing in the corner.

This is a great template to turn into your own “bucket list” travel experience. Or change the text to the message you want. Don’t forget to add your own cool images or videos first!

6. Google Search Animation Instagram Post

One of my own simple tourism post ideas! This template is animated and can be shared as a static image as shown above or downloaded as an MP4 with “Typewriter Effect” animated text as a video with flashing highlights.

This is an easy template for converting a background image or video. The idea is that the search bar includes exactly what your product, service or tourism experience is known for (and loved). Get creative with it!

7. Help me choose a story template post

This is a great post to share local business promotions for businesses such as cafes, restaurants or tours. Perfect for Instagram Stories or Facebook Stories. Think of two things you might want your audience to choose and ask them to do. Just add your voting stickers while on Instagram or Facebook.

Hint: This is a two page template. Click to preview in the button below.

8. Share Top 5 Tourism Infographics

The content isn’t just about your business. It’s also important to create content that will benefit your audience. In this case, you can use infographics to show some local businesses. Your local business may include your vendors or your team’s favorite cafes to visit.

You can use this infographic to show your tourism experiences, tours, cafes, restaurants, accommodations, or other “top five”. Helping other local businesses not only show that you are a great source of local knowledge, but also a great way to build relationships that really matter. And of course, if you are a cafe, you can include your own cafe on this list!

Hot Tips: You can easily drag and drop new photos into the photo placeholder. Then simply change the text to match your content. This infographic is designed for easy editing.

9. Share a letterbox video about tourism products

This can be a fun way to share some videos and photos and show off what you have to offer. In this case, the beautiful Rottnest Island in Western Australia. Need a shorter video? Remove some pages. But there are frameworks to get you started!
