Tips for pre-creating February content (simply!)
Creating content can be laborious and time consuming, but it can be made much easier if you schedule it ahead of time and do a few simple tasks.
In fact, with a few key strategies you can create and schedule a month’s worth of content in a fraction of the time. Here are my tips, especially when it comes to video production.
- Use a template. There are many templates available in the tools recommended below. Use one of them to guide you. If you’re not a designer, why spend so much time creating great designs? Instead, use a design already approved by the designer and edit the template. Edit only text, photos or colors. Don’t go too crazy, as you risk messing with the design. (Sorry, but that’s true and that’s true for me too!).
- Create batches. If you want to get into the creative space of making one social video (which also applies to images), why not make two videos? Or three videos? Or 10-20 images? It is much easier to create many videos at once than it is to create several videos separately. The tool is open and ready to use. Keep doing other things!
- Create short, vivid videos for social media – It doesn’t have to be an hour. 15-30 seconds should suffice. For more information on how to make an effective 15-second video, see check out this post.
- Create content that is easy to consume. For example, image quotes, tips, or observation humor are great for engagement, especially on Facebook, where people scroll through content at a fast pace.
- Add personality with GIFs. Whether you’re making your own GIF (I’ve added a tip below) or using one of the millions of GIFs in Giphy’s library, adding a GIF to your social media posts, emails or blog posts can add humor and personality.

I’ve included at least one “day” or holiday every day in February in my list of social media ideas and holidays.
